U-Haul Art Fair 2026

25 - 27 September 2026
Overview

Founded by Jack Chase and James Sundquist, U-Haul Gallery reimagines the exhibition space through a simple premise: an art gallery housed within the cargo area of a rented box truck. Moving outside the traditional brick-and-mortar model, the project creates temporary, mobile spaces for presenting and encountering contemporary art.

For the 2026 U-Haul Art Fair in New York City, Hexton Gallery presents a new body of work by Argentine artist Marcos Acosta. Marking the next evolution in Acosta’s ongoing exploration of landscape as a site of memory, perception, and reflection, the presentation builds upon ideas first introduced in his Is This a Mirror? paintings. The new works pair atmospheric natural and urban landscapes with distilled geometric forms that suggest mirrors, portals, and polished surfaces.

Presented within the intimate and unconventional setting of U-Haul Gallery, the paintings come together as an immersive installation exploring the shifting relationship between what is seen, what is remembered, and what is imagined.
