Reassembled Light: Terri Loewenthal + Phillip K. Smith III / Now On View

  • Terri Loewenthal’s work recombines landscape, light and color into kaleidoscopic images that are neither multiple exposures nor digitally manipulated. Her single-shot collages in thin air, as the artist coined them, transport us into the remote American West and provide a distinctively new perspective on these majestic sites.


    California light and space artist Phillip K Smith III echoes the same sensibility by reconfiguring light in real-time as the viewer is experiencing the work. Light and color reflect and recombine over Smith’s reflective surfaces, while at the same time immersing the viewer in an atmosphere of blending colors that are constantly shifting through the surrounding space.
