    Joani Tremblay (b. 1984, Montreal, Canada) received a BFA from UQAM in 2012 and an MFA from Concordia University in 2017. Tremblay’s work has been exhibited at venues across North America and internationally including at The Mint Museum, Charlotte (2023 and 2022); Acquavella Gallery (2025, 2026); James Cohan, New York (2024); Harper's, New York, East Hampton, and Los Angeles (2026 -2020); Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles (2022); Bradley Ertaskiran, Montreal (2023) ; Pangée, Montreal (2020); Musée de Charlevoix Museum, La Malbaie (2021); The Pit, Los Angeles (2024, 2022 and 2021); Marie-Laure Fleisch Gallery, Brussels (2020); Interstate, Brooklyn (2019); Zalucky Contemporary, Toronto (2019 and 2018); Pony Sugar, Stockholm (2017); and 3331 Arts Chiyoda, Tokyo (2014).

     

    Tremblay has participated in residencies in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin and Tokyo, notably twice at the prestigious International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP), Brooklyn. Tremblay received many international awards, with most recently the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and the Canada Council for the Arts. Her work appeared notably in ArtNet news, Two Coats of Paint, Metal Magazine, FAD Magazine, Artsy Editorial, Arte Fuse, Harper's BAZAAR, Art Observed, Canadian Art, Border Crossings, Esse arts + Opinions, and ArtMaze Magazine.

     

    Her work has been acquired by numerous institutions including The Mint Museum, Charlotte; the Center of International Contemporary Art, Vancouver; Montreal Municipal Art Collection, Montreal; Danjuma Collection, London; Xiao Museum of Contemporary Art, Rizhao, China; and RBC Corporate Collection, Toronto. Tremblay currently lives in the Mojave Desert, CA.
